We measure the values by ammeter and voltmeter in this experiment. If we use ideal meters, we can ignore the meters own resistance. But we use real meters which are not ideal. These actual meters extract energy from the system while making measurements. A real ammeter has an equivalent resistance that is not zero, and it thus effectively adds resistance to the circuit in series with the resistor whose current the ammeter is reading.
